The DTP is partnering with the Chamber of Commerce, CoRDA, the Northern Opportunities for Business Limited, the Truro Daily News and Big Dog/Cat Country Radio to promote a Colchester County ‘Buy Local’ Advertising Campaign from October 17th to December 22nd. This Campaign was launched during Small Business Week and includes a series of ads in the Truro Daily News running biweekly (Tues. & Sat.) and on Big Dog/Cat Country over the 10 week period. In addition, 1500 (11” x 17”) assorted color posters have been created replicating the advertisements and are available to Downtown Truro and Colchester County businesses for display.
If you have not received your poster(s) by now and would like some, please contact Heather at the DTP!

A popular summer time activity in Downtown Truro will also be a feature highlight during three Saturdays in December. The Truro Farmers’ Market will be hosting a Holiday Market from 9:00AM-1:00PM on December 1st, 8th, and 15th. The event will be held in the heart of Downtown Truro at the Disabled Consumers Society of Colchester Bingo Hall (formerly John’s Hall) at 773 Prince Street and the $1.00 admission will open the door to a wonderful array of locally made items. Many regular Farmers’ Market vendors will be in attendance, offering sausages, honey, preserves, dog treats, Fair Trade coffee, body products, cheese and more. They’ll be joined by a variety of artisans and handcrafters, ensuring there’ll be lots of opportunity to deck the halls and fill your stockings with such things as wreaths, candles, jewelry, woolen and wood handcrafts.
