Thank you to all of the Downtown Truro Businesses that supported the Canada Games 2011 Hub Bid in some way!
It was wonderful to see the unified support presented throughout the Town on billboards, banner and poster displays and the wearing of ‘red’. |

Tulip Festival 2007 — 10th anniversary! |
The planning for the 2007 Tulip Festival is underway with consideration being given to lots of new and exciting events and activities in recognition of the festival’s 10th Anniversary! Mainstays of the Festival will include the Craft Market, the Antique Market and this year, the ever popular ‘Donnie & the Monarchs’ will be playing at the Rock and Roll Dance once again.
The organizing committee of the 2007 Truro Tulip Festival are taking submissions of artwork from residents of Colchester County to be featured on the 2007 festival poster. The poster has become a collector’s item for many people and has won numerous awards at the annual poster competition of the Tourism Industry of Nova Scotia over the past few years. Specifics on artwork submissions are available from the office of the DTP.

*Something new* A “Taste” experience! |
On Sunday, March 4th, just as everyone is getting the winter blues, Downtown Truro Partnership is presenting a brand new event—a mid winter Food Sampler (“Taste”) at the Best Western Glengarry, which will showcase the wide variety of delicious food items available right here in Downtown Truro—through participation of our local restaurants, food shops and Farmers Market vendors.
This will be an interactive event, where each and every booth offers samples, as well as demonstrations, brochures, giveaways, prizes and items for sale, if desired. The main focus, however, will be on offering guests a taste experience featuring a special signature product or tasty dish.
Our goals are to highlight our downtown food establishments and local food producers; provide an interesting, tasteful afternoon for guests; and perhaps even create some new links between rowers and sellers.
Join us from 12 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 4th at the Best Western Glengarry! |
